Chairman Gwilym Tibbot welcomed new councillor Gareth Evans, Glan Afon.

Apologies were received from Darren Mayor.

Minutes from the previous meeting were agreed.

Matters Arising:

• Playground:
  The clerk reported that 2 builders had responded but were unable to undertake the work because appropriate size posts were unavailable. She will approach others and the matter was deferred until next month.

• Bridge at Pennant Melangell and flooding at Rhydyfelin:
  The clerk had written to the Highways but received no response. Councillor Tibbot is to follow this up.

• Council clustering to deliver local services:
  Councillors Eilbeck and Tibbot had attended a forum on this. Jennie Eilbeck reported back to the meeting. Powys is cutting back severely on its services but grants of 50% are available to Community Councils who undertake responsibility for these. It was suggested that clustering of councils would benefit by providing increased buying power, monitoring procedures and easier negotiation with PCC.
  Insufficient information on the services is available from PCC at present but it was decided to express an interest in joining a cluster group centred at Llanfyllin.

Letter heads:
A bill for these was passed for payment.

One Voice Wales:
It was agreed to renew membership of this organisation.

Clinical Waste Collections:
Letters regarding this have gone to all households. Only waste classed as infectious will be collected separately. Rest will go in purple sacks.

Tenders for grass cutting:
It was agreed to advertise for this by a notice in the Chronicle. The clerk will also contact PCC.

Russell George AM:
The Assembly Member is to hold a surgery at the New Inn on April 15 from 10 – 11 am.

Toilets:
Alastair Knox (PCC) will contact the clerk to arrange a meeting to discuss arrangements, queries and concerns.

Post Office:
Concerns were expressed that this service has not yet been restored. Councillor Tibbot reported that he keeps visiting the Council Offices in Welshpool to request updated information but it is still pending.

Letter from Bowling Club:
Concern was expressed that wood shavings used around the playground were blowing over the green and recreation ground. This matter will be addressed when the playground is refurbished.
